I want to thank you for your commitment to youth currently homeless in Toronto. When I tell them about partners like yourself who are committed to them on the frontlines or in prayer, they well up with gratitude because love and commitment are what they lack and value most.
I’m a parent and know a little love and encouragement can go a long way for our young people growing up.
Your gift helped bring youth into transformation, coming out of the darkness and into the light. Easter reminds me of the Resurrection and the Life. I was so happy to relay this message of hope to many in search of the light this past weekend. Your generosity helped a dozen youth move ahead in society, through further schooling and employment. Youth are enjoying the peace and a place of belonging within a supportive community. This is where it all begins.
I want to invite you to two special events this year:
- Gift of Hope evening on June 25th at The National Club—The event is to bring awareness to the community of the more than 1500 homeless youth on our streets of Toronto and the works of Light Patrol, a homeless outreach program of Youth Unlimited (Toronto YFC). The event will consist of food and wine selections from four regions of the world, entertainment, a guest speaker and a silent auction.
- Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon Charity Challenge on Oct 18th—Run, walk or jog for youth currently homeless. Light Patrol/Youth Unlimited is an official charity at the event, so come join us!
Once again, thank you for your continued commitment to the work of Light Patrol. You make the difference in the lives of those we serve. Please read more from our 2015 Spring/Summer ministry report!
